Lonesome Nights
I sit alone staring at a black screen for hours at a time
I anxiously await for you to just reply
I pray for it to emit light and to hear my phone ping
I try to stay hopeful, but I never hear it ring
Hours go by, no messages at all
All I needed was love, would it have killed you to call?
I’m codependent and tired of being on my own
Even if I reach out, no one bothers to answer the phone
Pictures and videos keep crowding my feed
Of people with friends, something I desperately need
You may look at my life and think it’s not all that bad
And I’m sure that it’s not but I’m still so sad
I live in a ghost town, devoid of life
Yet no one will notice, they won’t even think twice
It’s almost as if I’m from another Earth
Maybe that love just isn’t something I’m worth
So I’ll sit here alone, all by myself
Waiting silently for someone to help
