Once

Once - сашасабельников, сабельников

Once I’ve been travelling from road to road

Followed white lines that were running unbowed

And there was pristine though too little to announce

Once

Once I’ve met lines of mountains and skies

Adored any time that ran counterclockwise

Believed any truth stiffer than a chestnut

But

Curious winds happened to become void

Lines went without me, so reveled, so joyed

Said: “Stop, there’s time to leave so, adieu

We’re not you”

Lines of the trees said: “Be on yourself”

Lines of the mountains: “We’re not your delf”

Lines of my grounds, my waters, my sun

Said: “You’re done”

Once I was blessed to think I was all

And I was the line, thank God, not the wall

But never, see, never imagined that I

Was just an eye

I cried with a salty waters of grief

And turned just enough to make them believe

That I am not watching them anymore…

And saw a lakeshore

And saw swans of pure white feathering tiles

And clouds of tickle and people of smiles

And saw every leaf of the grass

Saying: “See us”

And day said: “Please see me” and night did as well

And lake said: “Don’t miss even tiniest shell”

And swans said: “Look up after us”, so did stars

“Be ours”

You must have thought that the wall was upset?

No. It had just saved loyal eye from regret

Not a one eye should be looking one way

What are yours after? Yes, yours! Hey?
