Shedding the tears, shedding armor
In front of those who are most dear.
The truths of trade, the tales of amour
Impale my heart with critics’ spear.
The views, so liberal, so common
Collide in topics I can’t fold.
Old banished demons which you summon
Tempt now to give up all my gold.
Working hard, smart, in right direction
Means nothing if you can’t relate.
Talking of chores over affection
So that your truths won’t dull my blade.
So adamant the views, so distant
To someone walking not same shoes.
Temp it! Like hell, I am resistant
If all you do is sing old blues.
Not here to make you change religion -
Pray to old gods if that’s your choice.
Let’s meet again, on same condition:
If new ways win, you’ll hear my voice.
Bet on David, the giant slayer.
Fanatic of what’s not mainstream.
Oh hear me lord, my silent prayer.
Let new beginnings always win.
