I Swallow Stained Glass

I swallow stained glass

In front of me

A lit cigarette

The thunder rolls

As the children run home

The stars are bright

Despite a beaming sun

The sounds of children

Of mothers and their daughters

Swallow cement and dirt

You’ll see them

With bleeding mouths

And blackened tongues

Dancing on roofs

You’ll forget them soon
