I’ve been having dreams
jumping on a trampoline.
Spiraling beneath the stars,
reading your face in the spaces between diamonds etched on the moonlight opus,
hearing you call my name
amidst the swishes
of my body
tearing
air.
Reaching out with the arcs of my fingers
to stroke your dark hair,
waning past shooting stars
within an amber aurora.
And as I’m looking up,
suddenly the sky erupts
into a myriad of colors alien to my eyes.
So foreign, so unfamiliar, so unearthly
that I awaken into a drifting coma.
The stars are meant to teach me,
illumine a path for me to trail,
but I have never felt this lost,
this alone.
